FOCUS GROUPS

WOMEN AND WORK

WE WANT TO HEAR FROM YOU!

The purpose of this project is to conduct focus groups with women who have left the workforce during/due to the pandemic to understand the challenges they face, their desires about returning to the workforce, the types of support they need to obtain and maintain employment, and the information and assistance they want. To garner the most reliable information, about 120 participants will be engaged across 16 focus groups. We will follow the best practices for conducting in-person and virtual focus groups.

What Is a Focus Group?

We will soon be inviting eligible women to participate in focus groups. What is a focus group anyway and what does it mean to take part in one of our focus groups?

A focus group is an interview of a small group of people led by a trained facilitator who asks specific questions. For these focus groups, we are studying the responses women have about their experience related to working (or not working) as a result of the COVID-19 pandemic.

Our focus groups will last about 90 minutes. To fit the most number of women, our focus groups will be offered during the day and in the evening. Some will be held on the weekends. We will have in-person sessions and sessions on Zoom. Interpretation services are available upon request. Reasonable accommodations will be made. Participants will receive a $50 gift card.

Participation is voluntary. Participants can stop at any time. All information collected is kept strictly confidential.

If your employment has been impacted as a result of the pandemic, we want to talk to you!
