About the event
The social justice protests during the summer of 2020 shone a bright light on issues of racial injustice. How do we bring the issues from the streets to the board room and continue conversations from the neighborhood to the workplace? Many well-meaning leaders are hesitant to be active contributors for fear of doing or saying the wrong thing. Others of us are exhausted by being the one to speak for all.
Diversity, Equity & Inclusion (DEI) has a profound impact on our places of work, so it's in our best interest to know what it means. In this workshop, we’ll explore biases and stereotypes from a physiological perspective. We'll lean into practices of self-awareness to become more open to perspectives different than our own. We’ll investigate the different types of "diversity" and how to ensure both are flourishing in our workplace. We'll learn what to say and do when we say or do the wrong thing--or when we witness a word or action from someone. And we’ll reveal the three most important skills every person needs to know to become a confident personal practitioner of Diversity. Managers who possess practical skills to navigate tricky situations with confidence will provide a workplace where everyone can give their best to increase the success of the company.
Courses in the Great Leaders | Great Bosses series are comprised of a 2-hour workshop plus six pre-workshop emails with curated content (articles, videos, podcasts, etc.) specific to the topic for independent, asynchronous, self-paced study.
Registration closes one week prior to the workshop.
