About the event
Feedback is vitally important for performance. If you don't know how well you're doing, it is impossible to know if you need to make adjustments and what adjustments need to be made. Athletes get regular feedback from coaches, teammates, referees, even fans in the stands. Chefs get early feedback by tasting as they cook and ultimate feedback from the satisfaction of the diners. Carpenters get feedback: measure twice, cut once. Tailors, auto mechanics, surgeons all rely on short- and long-term feedback to ensure they are performing at their best. Why, then, are most people in organizations terrified to deliver and receive feedback? It's because organizations have for decades done a lousy job implementing a performance feedback system.
In the course, individuals will learn the elements of constructive feedback and how to deliver (and receive) feedback that is both effective and gracious. We will create plans to ensure feedback is a regular part of your leadership toolkit. We will also discuss and debunk common myths about feedback, like the feedback sandwich.
Courses in the Great Leaders | Great Bosses series are comprised of a 2-hour workshop plus six pre-workshop emails with curated content (articles, videos, podcasts, etc.) specific to the topic for independent, asynchronous, self-paced study.
