Workforce & Talent Salon - Where Big Ideas Can Grow
During the Enlightenment, a salon was a gathering of people from diverse backgrounds who come together to discuss ideas and increase their knowledge through conversation. We invite you to a modern-day salon to talk about all things related to workforce & talent. Who knows what Big Ideas will emerge!
Time & Location
Sep 14, 4:00 PM – 6:00 PM
Lifeline of Ohio, 770 Kinnear Rd, Columbus, OH 43212
About the Event
A Salon is a place where interesting people can gather to talk about their diverse perspectives on important topics that shape our world. We are continuing the conversations about how to make work work for today's workforce. You'll definitely want to join us at our next Workforce & Talent Salon on Thursday, September 14 from 4 - 6 pm at Lifeline of Ohio. The discussion topic: What do we mean by "Professionalism" anyway?
Leading the conversation will be Dave Cofer, Senior Director of Community Partnerships at Columbus State Community College. In his role at the college, Dave finds himself balancing the expectations of employers with the realities of college students. He'll share his perspective and how he has reshaped his thinking over the years.
To whet your appetite, consider this article from BizWomen, The CROWN Act would ban hair discrimination. Here is why supporters say it's needed. Then there is this LinkedIn post wondering why some CEO candidates think it's appropriate to wear casual attire to Zoom interviews ... leading others to offer that, perhaps it's "time to think about dress codes."
This lively and provocative conversation will likely challenge some preconceived notions about what professionalism means.
This Salon is hosted by Lifeline of Ohio and facilitated by Applegate Talent Strategies. Light refreshments will be available.
