About the event
A Salon is a place where interesting people can gather to talk about their diverse perspectives on important topics that shape our world. We are continuing the conversations about how to make work work for today's workforce. You'll want to join us at our next Workforce & Talent Salon on Thursday, April 18 from 4 - 6 pm at Lifeline of Ohio. The discussion topic: Who Gives A Care : What Can Employers Do to Support Their Employees Who Are Also Family Caregivers?  Â
Leading the conversation will be Marti Post, the author of Retrofit: The Playbook for Modern Moms, and the Founder and CEO of a’parently, a consultancy that helps employers thrive by keeping parents in the workforce and she serves on the Board of Directors at Work Family Balance. Â
What can you expect from the conversation about Who Gives A Care? Most of us have either been there ourselves or we've managed someone who is at the messy crossroads of working and taking care of family needs. When these needs collide, what's the impact of caregiving on your workforce? Let's discuss how employers can be part of the solution for the 73% of the U.S. employees who, in their "spare time," provide unpaid care for loved ones.
What do you think? What is your reason for advocating one way or the other? This lively and provocative conversation will likely challenge some preconceived notions about our differing experiences and perceptions about what employers can do to support caregivers.Â
This Salon is held at Lifeline of Ohio and facilitated by Applegate Talent Strategies. Light refreshments will be provided.
